Thursday...trying not to think about how many games we would have played with my parents this week! I have pretty loose with the kids in the morning and just let me do what they want...which usually means waiting for the cousins to wake up so they can FaceTime with them! The weather was supposed to be pretty rainy again so I roused them all for a morning walk. The fresh air felt good. We even talked to the neighbor through the fence - which is what we usually do, so that felt really normal! Elizabeth busted out some craft projects. She made soap, glittery soap, floating gem soap, lip gloss with blue food coloring (which was not in the instructions and now we know why - you get blue lips!) and sun catchers. We sat down at 12:30 and ate lunch together as a family - on a Thursday - this is so weird!
After lunch I spent some time in the basement cleaning up the store room and the kids played a new educational game that kept them happy for 3 hours. Win! I snuck away to the hot tub thinking surely they would find me in 10 seconds...nope! I had 30 minutes of silence - ok truth be hold I got bored. I have started to worry that I am getting a little too use to everyone being around and when they all go back it is going to be too quiet! Auggie however seems completely exhausted every night!
A local boy had just come home from his treatment at St. Jude and his community (they used to live and work here, but moved to a neighboring community) had organized a car parade to go by his house. Luckily we had the time to join in! I loaded the kids and dog up and we meet up with Washington's caravan. It was really fun, but again weird. People would go up to talk to each other in their cars and be standing so far away from their car window! And I should say really only 3 people got out of their cars - not a lot. I commented that the caravan meet up was like a parking lot party - just stay in your car!
We had tele learning with Auntie Amber this morning and she taught us about the state of Oregon. Then each of them received their state and they began their research - that is what is happening below. Elizabeth will be reporting on New York (a real hot mess of Coronovirus right now might I add) and Grant choose California. They are working on their PowerPoints and will report next week.
After dinner had daddy watch the Ultimate Beast Master with us and then I don't know how it happened but he busted his shin open and Elizabeth started screaming "It's blushing!" - yes blushing, not gushing. So there was that whole medical scene...and then bed!
