Christmas 2018

We started with Christmas Eve service with some of our favorite people! This has become quite the tradition and this year the kids all got to hold their own REAL candles. If taking pictures in the middle of church service was not rude I would have taken one, because the looks on their faces above the glow of the candles was priceless!

The annual reading of Twas the Night Before Christmas. Read partly by Daddy and partly by Kenny Pops thanks to the magic of Hallmark.
Cookies, milk, carrots...we are ready!
Goodbye Elf!
Wow that tree is bright!

New record!! The kids actually made it to 7:48!
When they are more excited to give their gifts to each other than open one that is for them. The magic of Christmas!
The best red chair!
We had a wonderful Christmas morning at home and then headed over to my parent's house where apparently we failed miserably with taking pictures!! It was a really nice day. We are so blessed to be together and missed those who weren't with us.

A few days later we were ready to meet up with the Campbell's in Cabo for our destination Christmas year.

Bears vs. Viking game. The boys had been deep sea fishing, B was very sea sick. He was better once on land, but the football game wasn't great for the Vikings and no fish were brought home by our deep sea fishermen!
Childhood flashbacks

Liquid dish soap doesn't go in the dishwasher Amber!
Briggs found the pickle!
Starting our New Year's Eve celebration
 Minute to Win It games!

In case you are wondering if there are fireworks in Mexico on NYE, the answer is yes, yes and yes and into the wee hours of the morning...like we were still hearing them at 3am!
Our new obsession!

When you discover you can take the local bus for $.80 a person, vs. a $50 taxi ride - we can ride like the locals...we just don't exactly blend in and look like the locals :)
These four just melt my heart

The best whale watching EVER!!!
Minor pool problems - but that didn't stop the kids!

Well Cabo and 2018 that's all! 2018 was quite and awesome year. Brandon got to South America and Geneva twice. I started the year in England. We spent an awesome week in Geneva over the summer with the Hellers and ended in Mexico with the Campbells - not to mention all the other great stuff in between. To say we are blessed is an understatement. We are blessed beyond belief. Making memories is what it is all about. And although it is February and I am just completing the 2018 blog I know that at least this small moments that we capture will escape us if we don't write them down and take time to look at them now and again.

Annual "gingerbread" house decorating party at church

Can we have a sleepover?! Will you actually sleep? They actually did!
Music programs continue to be a struggle for our little man, but an awesome Sunday School teacher and a tube of confetti lured him up front for the last song!

Seriously Grant, just a. normal smile please!
A family afternoon of Christmas cow paintings!
Elizabeth doing a reading at the Church Christmas program
Always a pillow under this one's head :)
Another one for the tooth fairy!
An inappropriate answer on a math test. But bonus points for honesty?
Christmas sweater on!
Given that our house was not on the Christmas walk this year, I didn't feel the decorating pressure. I didn't really realize how lax I really was until reviewing this picture in particular...half of the lights are out and the popcorn string isn't straight!

And a sit with Santa throwback!
