England

Even once in awhile Mommy gets to sneak away...I was really lucky and went to England to visit one of my dearest friends! Ever heard of the famous poet, Robert Burns? There was a celebration, called "Burns Night" to celebrate his Scottish heritage in the village that they live. It was so much fun. I developed a new philosophy on trying new and different foods. Just try them and ask (google) what they are later! Haggis - go ahead Google it.

Our Burns Night table. Salt of the earth people here, with such great stories to tell and fun accents!
It is not everyday you get to run with the Burghley House as your track.
The inside of the church in Glinton
We had our picture taken here at the same spot in Stamford last time we were all here.
Just eat it, ask questions later :)
The Irish Coffee that ordered when Ira insisted he buy us a drink. So much caffeine! Despite the jetlag this baby keep me up for another few hours! And yes that is an amaretto cookie - one of my favorites!! Kevin got them to bring us more.

Who doesn't love a string of macarons?!
It was a little chilly
Kim and I also went on a girls weekend to Cambridge. It was beautiful, the sun even came out the dat we went punting - boating being pushed by a pole
We found a gin tasting room - what luck!
The punting is hard work - I mean our guy could barely keep his pants up! It was pretty entertaining to watch the non professionals try their hand at punting down the canal! It is harder than it looks!
Kings College, we went there for the Evensong one night.
Someone famous built this bridge...Sir Isaac Newton??

OSF Angel Ball

Every once in awhile we get the opportunity to get dressed up and be adults and only have to worry about cutting our own food! Our friend's Julie & Tim invited us to be their guest at the OSF Angel Ball. It was a great night. The Temptations were the entertainment (well not all were the original Temptations!) but they were fun!

Special Visitors!

We were so lucky that our trips overlapped and that we didn't miss each other because it is not everyday your friends come home from Australia!! Some day we are going to put pictures of the kids together throughout the years! The little boys were all born within 11 days of each other!

Welcome to 2018

It has taken me until March to catch up from 2017, but I am still dedicated to this project, even if it is becoming more of a labor than a pleasure. The kids are growing up so fast and if we don't record some of these moments I know they will escape our memories. I am constantly reminded of what a precious gift Elizabeth and Grant are to our lives. It brings Brandon and I so much joy to watch them navigate new waters and learn new things and have those "character building" experiences! 2018 here we go....
