Kids Color Run

The St. Jude Color Me a Cure color run was an especially hot day! But this year the WFD brought the firetruck with the aerial sprayer to keep the kids cool. If only I would have tossed in a bar soap! 

Chicago Air & Water Show

This is one of Brandon's favorite events and Aunt Sandy happens to have premiere viewing of the show. Not to mention she serves really good food and drinks! Pictures can't do it justice. You just have to be there as the Blue Angels buzz the balcony!

I think that is EB's head on my lap - so I wasn't the only one cat napping! 

 We finished the weekend with a trip to Adler Planetarium.

First Day of School - 2nd & 4th Grade

Do these not just look like the sweetest teachers ever? I think the kids are ready. I mean there reaches a point when it is just time! Focus on those confident smiles! Elizabeth moved up to the middle school this year and takes the bus 40 mins earlier than Grant. I am little worried of how our mornings are going to go with separate bus times, but hoping to enjoy the one on one time with each of them - Grant in the morning and Elizabeth after school (as Grant gets home after her).

Finally in the same class! They have been together since preschool, but never in the same grade school class!

It's going to be the best year yet!

The last days of summer

A last trip to the neighboring pool that has a slide and high dive! A last bicycle trail ride. One last hike. A trip to paint pottery. Ok we will probably still take a Jeep ride to get ice cream after school starts! And when the tomatoes ever end?!

Elizabeth is 10!

 It is a birthday party year and this year I think I did my best cake yet!! When there are actual tools involved it is GDFR (going down for real)! Elizabeth had an art party with our favorite artist Ms.Deb! It was also family day at Daddy's building. Last year we got to dunk him in the dunk tank. Unfortunately he is pretty sure he contracted a nasty sinus infection from being in that water and did not sign up for the tank again this year! And double digits...we are not even focusing on that!
