Farm Park
Today my Mom's group went to Farm Park. It was a cool 91 degrees and despite it being a "free day" I think the heat kept the crowds away. Due to the heat the animals were not extremely active, nor were they all that hungry. The ones that weren't hiding out in the shade didn't seem real interested in eating the same old pellets! Elizabeth did feed the horses and at the end we managed to make the mama goose real mad by getting too close to her babies. They give you the food in an ice cream cone so you can also feed the animals the cone. The goose was hissing and I snatched the cone out of EB's hand and threw it at the goose. I didn't really mean to hit it. It was just supposed to be a gesture of "here have some food, we don't want your goslings!"
I failed to bring a snack and EB was hungry. So as sweat was starting to run down by abdomen I decided it was time to hit the concession stand for lunch. EB ate a really good lunch and Grant sucked down his pumpkin banana food tube, or "squeezie food" as we call them.
I can't say it was the most exciting trip to Farm Park, but it was free and nice to hang out with our friends. We cooled down in the Pauli Pool this afternoon. Grant really enjoyed the water and maybe enjoyed his bottle and a nap in the shade even more! I let EB wear her water wings and just have fun. We didn't ask her to blow bubbles or to try to float and guess what? She did all of those things on her own terms at her own pace! I think we will just let the swimming stuff come naturally and let her just play all summer. I have a feeling we are in for a hot one!
