The Garden
This is our third (maybe fouth?) year for a garden. However, this is the first year we did not grow our plants from seed. We just bought the plants. We have three raised beds, two larger ones and one small one that is designated for my herbs. This year we planted a new variety of tomato plants (celebrity) and Brandon always has to have his yellow boys! We have romas (fingers crossed for no blossom rot) and cherry. Our cucumber plant has already failed so miserably that we can't even tell where we planted it! Surviving from last year are some onions that we replanted and my cilantro came back...no it isn't suppose to! It is huge and appears really hardy. I just have to stay on top of it flowering. It requires almost daily pruning, but I use it almost everyday so it's pretty easy. Our neighbor was kind enough to share her jalapeño four pack, so we have two jalapeño plants and a banana pepper, which I'm really excited about! I have basil too, but it's looking a little rough. We did plant green bean seeds. The package said to plant a few every two weeks. I planted five on mothers day and only one sprouted. Brandon planted about ten more tonight. We will see if we ever have enough beans for a meal! Hopefully, we will have a picture of a bountiful harvest to share later in the summer.
