Birthday Chair Covers

The night before Elizabeth turned one I created the "birthday chair cover". When I was growing up my Mom always made us our favorite dinner and served it on the "You Are Special" red plate. Some of you may remember these special plates. There was a special pen you would use to write on the back when it was used. Well E was too little to eat off of a special ceramic plate so the birthday chair idea was born. It is basically a slip cover for the chair that the birthday boy/girl sits in. As G's first birthday is approaching I starting working on his yesterday.

This might be one of the easiest projects I have ever done.

Materials Needed:
Pillow Case
Fabric Glue
Ribbon
Iron On Transfers
(scissors and an iron)

I will say it was a little more challenging finding items for a boy. I even found the ribbon selection to be slim. In the end I found a green "Birthday Boy" iron transfer at Hobby Lobby. I found green ribbon with what I will call circle (not polka-dots!) and of course orange letters for his name.

At this point my children's names will be revealed (because I want to share the pictures!). My husband and brother thought it was silly to use initials anyway. So my attempt to try to keep this public blog a bit more secure has failed!
