The countdown was finally over!!

We had the pleasure of sharing spring break with Ima and Pops aboard the Disney Fantasy. This cruise in particular featured a very special Star Wars Day at Sea. Being our family knew nothing about Star Wars, Brandon bought the DVD box set and we made it a goal to watch one Star Wars movie every weekend before spring break. We still don't know a lot about Star Wars as that weekend movie watching turned into nap time for the adults, but we embraced it all! As always...best told through pictures!

Yes, everyone did the Aqua Duct. Ima did it with both of the kids!

This couple asked Brandon to take  "a picture," but he took a selfie with the wife instead. At first the guy was a little put off, but then realized it was a joke and every time we saw them on the ship he had to take a picture with them!

Pretty sure this was the dinner where the server challenged us to a puzzle with a wine glass, to which I promptly broke - puzzle not solved :(
 |
Goofy Golf on the top deck was a big hit. At least ball was heavy enough to stay in place. Ping pong on the top deck, not so much fun when the boat was moving.

Pirate Night
Castaway Cay was a fantastic day... until Elizabeth and Brandon and I went snorkeling and got separated/lost and scared the rest of the family and then Elizabeth sliced her foot on a piece of coral. Maybe a little less than magical, but one of these days the kids are going to love snorkeling and we are going to keep trying until they do!! After Elizabeth and I surfaced from our snorkeling expedition (seriously, I am the only one who could get lost on a semi-circle snorkel path) the kids gave the water obstacle course a try. Their falls were pretty funny, unfortunately they didn't appreciate it when they laughed at each other and that caused some chasing and resulted in the foot injury. By the time I got EB to the medical hut the and patched up the rest of the family had packed up so our beach day had come to an end. We might need a Castaway Cay do-over!

Take notice of the AquaDuct waterslide lit up in the background. I tried with all my soul to ride that illuminated waterslide with Grant on our last night. First a kid got stuck and by the time they re-opened the ride the lights weren't working. We had a dinner reservation we had to get to, but Mommy gets points for trying. Ima tried too, but she had to go back a little earlier so she could help Elizabeth get ready for dinner :)

Star Wars days was interesting to say the least. The lobby with kids light saber fighting went on all d ay long! Brandon's pre-Star Wars speech went something like this "Kids tomorrow you are going to see a lot of light sabers tomorrow. Some might be bigger than yours. Do not have light saber envy. Most of the really big expensive light sabers belong to grown adults".

Please note we are all wearing a Star Wars shirt while the Force is With Us.

Yes, that chicken noodle soup has Mickey Mouse noodles.
 |
I'm pretty sure this conversation is something about "why don't we have ice cream right now?"

It was an awesome trip and luckily it was a late spring break so there was only a little bit of school left before summer fun!! Thanks Im and Pops for an awesome week!
