ATL: Noah's Ark
We were very lucky to have Uncle David Tuesday afternoon. He took us to a place called Noah's Ark. It is kind of like a zoo, but really open and lots of paths to walk. It was perfect in the shade, a little toasty in the sun. There were a ton of emus, which is one of Elizabeth's favorite animals at our zoo. There was also an exhibit with a lion, tiger and bear living together. There were also two tiger cubs and a bear cub being raised together (pictured below). There were wolves, leopords, monkeys and lots of birds (very chatty, loud birds). Those animals were all caged, obviously. Then there was a pony and a donkey with free range. Elizabeth was in the height of her glory! She could stand between the two of them and pet them at the same time. The pony was just her size and she asked if she could ride it. Now Grant on the other hand did not appreciate these free range animals because he was trying to eat lunch and the pony thought his black beans looked pretty good. We also had a large ducky family that followed us half of the time, again after GR's food! They were pecking at the stroller and my feet! For fear of my son getting pecked I had to throw his food away. David and Elizabeth got about five feet from a deer and even then the deer didn't move, but David wisely decided that was probably close enough!
Not really knowing what to expect of Noah's Ark, I was impressed. It was very scenic and it was nice to be out in the fresh air enjoying the animals. The kids loved it and fell asleep as soon we got in the car. Great fun! Thanks David!
