Elizabeth's birthday!

Elizabeth is 11!

They boys had departed for their first stop on their baseball stadium tour so we started the birthday celebration with a pedicure!

Her request was to play golf with Ima and Pops. It was a little toasty out but she had her fan to keep her cool!

Doesn't she look like a pro? She does not get this form from her mother!

The next day we hopped on the train to Chicago. Note for future travel planning, if the Cubs are in town book your ticket more than the day before. The Bloomington stop was sold out and we had to catch the train in Galesburg! (Thanks Ima for driving us!)

We met up with Aunt Sandy in the city and had a girls lunch at the Walnut Room.

Lunch was followed by some shopping at Elizabeth's new favorite store, Dick Blick (yes the art store!)

Her request for dinner was wood fired pizza ("you know mom like we had in Switzerland!") We tried a new place, Coalfire Pizza and it was pretty good and definitely wood fired.

We finished the night with the projected art show at the Merchandise Mart.

The boys LA flight got in very late on the 7th, but we woke up on the 8th to celebrate the birthday girl a little more! The requested lunch was at the Sugar Factory. In case you haven't experienced this place it is just that....a sugar (cavity) feast!

Grant is 9!

The day started with a trip to Dunkin Donuts! We just pay cash and don't tell Daddy that we go there! He has boycotted DD because they don't serve nut donuts. Next on the agenda was an epic kickball game. Of course we had to play moms vs. kids. I am just going to say that kickball sounds easier than what it is. That kickball bounces right out of your arms!

Grant has discovered baseball cards!

I think he knows where he gets his love of baseball cards. Here is just one of Brandon's totes!

Grant and I made baseball cake pops together for his birthday treat.

I really think he played a baseball game that night in Chillicothe, but I apparently didn't take a picture, so I can't be positive. I do remember make lots of cake pops so I am thinking we made them for the baseball team! (this is why you don't get 6 months behind on your blog!)
