Each year we visit a local orchard in the fall. Amber and family were in town and Kenny Pops and Aunt Sandy joined us too! We do the same thing every year: eat apple cider donuts, look at the pumpkin characters, feed the goats, ride the mechanical horse, play on the playground (in particular the school bus...for hours!). We hit all the high-lights again this year and at the end we take their picture with the apple measuring stick.

Halloween 2014
This year's big Halloween deal was Trunk of Treat at the church. Brandon and I were coming back from a weekend getaway the same day it was happening. Ima and Pops made sure the kids had lots of fun. They decorated dad's truck with the Frozen theme and everyone was in costume. Grant was the adorable snowman Olaf, Elizabeth the ice princess Elsa, Mom the lovely sister Anna and Dad the lovable reindeer Sven. It was really cute and I don't remember them ever dressing up when I was little! The things you do for your grandkids! They got the award for the best treat. The treat was a bag that said "Do you want to build a snowman" with marshmallows, pretzels and mini chocolate chips - all the parts you need to build a snowman! I was glad B and I got back in time to join them for the fun.
We trick or treated in the old neighborhood and I wore the Anna costume and Brandon decided he did not want to be a Frozen character and really wanted a reason to wear his recently purchased trappers hat, so he went as cousin Eddie and might I just add, he was very cold!

Grant's Field Trip
Recent Funnies...
We were driving home from swimming and Grant said something to Elizabeth that she didn't care for and her response was "If I was your girlfriend would you treat me that way? The girls are not going to like that!"
One day after school Grant told me that the teacher was dividing up the class by birthday and he said his birthday was Oct 2. I said "buddy, your birthday is in June." His response was "I didn't know that, I guess my teacher doesn't know either!"
When working with Elizabeth to count by tens we were saying "fifty, sixty, seventy, eighty, ninety, " and Grant interrupts and says "tenty!" He was so proud of himself. We then introduced the words "one hundred".
Grant continues to be confused of how his birthday can come first, yet he is younger than Elizabeth. This is a weekly conversation.
Elizabeth asked "When does Santa sleep?"
Grant: "What rhymes with hot dog? Fart dog!" (this is a favorite that never gets old!) He also learned a new song "I'm sassy and fat and I can change my color just like that!"
